In 2021, I began my attempt to walk all 100-or-so miles of beach, dune, and boardwalk facing the Atlantic Ocean – from Coney Island to the west to Southampton to the east – along five barrier islands and two barrier spits of the south shore of Long Island, New York.

This blog is intended to document each leg of the journey — of which there will be many — through words, maps, photos, video, and audio.
